That figure is the lowest ratings for a pay-per-view preliminary card since the UFC moved to ESPN at the beginning of 2019. The previous low was the UFC 237 prelims, which attracted an average audience of 813,000.

The UFC 240 preliminary card featured a women’s flyweight tilt between Viviane Araujo and Alexis Davis, which Araujo won via unanimous decision. Ratings peaked at 883,000 viewers for that contest.

UFC 240 took place at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and saw Max Holloway retain his featherweight crown with a five-round verdict against Frankie Edgar in the evening’s main event.
