“I will answer all the questions out there about myself in the ring!” Lineker wrote. “People will be changing the channel to watch me fight! I will continue to do what I love! Fight and put on a show!”

The 29-year-old known as “Hands of Stone” voiced his displeasure with the UFC in May, citing an infrequent fight schedule in comparison to recent opponent Corey Sandhagen. Lineker ended with the ultimatum, “If you don’t like me or my style just let me go!” Shortly thereafter, he was given the opportunity to step in and face Font at UFC Greenville June 22.
Lineker at times struggled to make weight competing at 125 pounds but fared better in that regard upon moving to bantamweight. However, he had pulled out of three different bouts in recent months due to a variety of issues. Lineker went 12-4 in the Las Vegas-based promotion with notable wins over the likes of Marlon Vera, John Dodson, Michael McDonald, Rob Font and Ian McCall, to name a few.
