World Series of Fighting Appoints Carlos Silva as New CEO
Las Vegas-based organization World Series of Fighting has made a bold move to improve its business model, officially announcing Carlos Silva as the company’s new CEO. The promotion announced the hiring Wednesday afternoon and stated that the move is effective immediately.
Silva is the former president and COO of NBCU’s Universal Sports Network and former president and COO of Back9Network, the latter of which was a simple start-up media company that eventually garnered over two million unique monthly users. His work with Universal Sports Network led to the expansion of NBCU’s Olympic and lifestyle sports television platform into 68 million homes.

Prior to spearheading NBCU, Silva was the senior vice president of AOL Time Warner and was responsible for developing AOL Sports, News and Money.
WSOF action returns to NBCSN with a five-bout telecast on Saturday, at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT. The main event features the welterweight championship between titleholder Rousimar Palhares defending against Jake Shields.
