In the night's opening bout, Yves Jabouin took a unanimous decision over Brandon Visher with scores of 30-27 across the board.

Cub Swanson vs. Mackens Semerzier
Round 1
Semerzier fires three quick left jabs and then hammers Cub with a low kick. Semerzier is much quicker with his strikes. Semerzier shoots in and scores a double leg but Swanson gets right back to his feet. Swanson lands a glancing left head kick. Semerzier shoots in but he's stuffed. They clinch along the fence. Hard slam from Swanson but Semerzier stands right back up. Swanson lands a rifle of a right hand and fires a left that misses. Semerzier answers with a right and then misses a flying knee. They go toe-to-toe but miss pretty much every punch. Great action. Semerzier misses another flying knee and then lands a glancing right head kick. Cub shoots in but is stuffed. Semerzier scores a double leg but can't keep Swanson down long. Back up, Swanson looks a bit sluggish. Swanson starts to tag his foe with right hands. Swanson on fire at the bell. Very close round. 10-9 Swanson.

Round 2
They trade low kicks right away. Swanson misses a right hand and they clinch. Semerzier pushes him up against the cage. They separate. Hard low kick by Swanson. Semerzier fires a three punch combo but Cub ducks under and cracks him with a right hand. They both open up and swing wildly but nothing of note finds it's home. Hard right hand by Swanson is met by a right knee by Semerzier. They exchange low kicks again. Hard right hand by Cub hurts Semerzier. Swanson grins and launches two front kicks and another right hand. Spinning back fist by Swanson just misses it's target. Semerzier comes right back and trades blows. Swanson lands two more right hands. Swanson shoots in and scores a double leg. Semerzier had the neck but is too gassed to wrap up the guillotine. All Swanson late. 10-9 Swanson.

Round 3
Swanson throws a low kick but it tripped and flipped onto his back by a sweep. He springs up and fires a right hand. Swanson shoots and scores a monster double leg. Semerzier stands back up and separates. They trade punches. Semerzier catches Cub's right leg and trips him down again. Swanson shoots right up. They exchange rights and lefts but nothing clean lands. Swanson scores another double but can't keep his opponent down. Great action in the final round. Hard knee from Semerzier in a clinch. Semerzier scores a desperate takedown. Cub rolls but Semerzier is all over him. Swanson rolls back onto his back and is caught in an arm tingle but he escapes and turtles up. Semerzier unloads but Swanson rolls and pulls guard. Semerzier throws everything he has and lands several punches. Swanson scrambles up to his feet and they go toe-to-toe until the bell. Great, great close fight. 10-9 Semerzier.

Official scores: 29-28 Mackens and 29-28 (twice) for Swanson. Cub Swanson takes the split decision.

Clint Godfrey vs. Michael McDonald
Round 1
Hard right hand by McDonald as he eats a low kick. Both a bit tentative. Right hand drops Godfrey and McDonald unloads a series of rights. Godfrey was more a bit off-balance when he got tagged and covers up well. He's fine. McDonald lets him stand back up. They circle and Godfrey pins him against the cage. Godfrey rips out his foe's legs and slams him down hard. McDonald quickly pulls guard. Not much happening. McDonald quickly latches on an armbar while Godfrey was lulled into relaxation. It's tight and Godfrey taps. Official time of the submission is 2:42 of round one.

Zachary Micklewright vs. Dustin Poirier
Round 1
Poirier comes right out and swarms his foe. He throws nonstop punches. Micklewright fires back but he's hurt by a left hand. He stumbles back and Poirier pours it on even more. Micklewright is game and punches back but he's shaken visibly. Poirier is relentless and won't stop his onslaught. A left hand rocks Micklewright again and he's in deep, deep trouble. Poirier is just pouring it on and Micklewright somehow won't fall. Finally, referee Kim Winslow jumps in and stops the mugging. Micklewright is stumbling all over and Winslow is keeping him up in her arms. He's totally out on his feet and stumbles down onto his knees. The TKO came in just 53 seconds. Micklewright walked out on his own power a minute or so later.

Anthony Njokuani vs. Edward Faaloloto
Round 1
Faaloloto starts off with two meager low kicks. Njokuani answers with low kicks of his own. Faaloloto shoots in for a double leg but he's stuffed. They clinch along the cage. Faaloloto inadvertently lands a knee to Njokuani's groin and he is given a time to recoup. Finally, they start again. They trade jabs and low kicks. Faaloloto shoots in but is stuffed again. He tries again but Njokuani's defense is superb. Finally, Faaloloto lands it and Anthony pulls guard. Njokuani quickly scrambles and reverses position and then springs back up. Hard left jab by Njokuani. Another. Faaloloto clinches and presses his opponent into the cage. The action slows considerably. Close round. 10-9 Njokuani.

Round 2
Looks like the bridge of the nose of Faaloloto is broken. They trade hard body kicks. Nice left jab by Njokuani. Brutal right low kick by Njokuani. They square up and Faaloloto fires a low kick of his own. The action has slowed and it's become a more measured kickboxing match. They clinch and Njokuani delivers a thudding knee to the body. Faaloloto is trying to drag him down but can't. Beautiful whizzer by Njokuani, who lands in side control. Faaloloto looks very tired but he's able to pull to half guard and then scrambles to his feet. They clinch again. Njokuani now crushes Faaloloto's groin with a knee. He's given time to rest. They resume and trade low kicks. They exchange blows and it looks like Faaloloto was thumbed in the eye. Njokuani swarms him with punches and knees to the belly. Faaloloto is hurt badly and in trouble. Njokuani lands a hard right elbow from the clinch, dropping Falo onto his back. Mazzagatti quickly steps in and stops it. The official time is 4:54 of the round.

Raphael Assuncao vs. L.C. Davis
Round 1
Assuncao lands a low kick very early. They are measuring each other. Davis shoots in for a single but he's stuffed and then caught in a guillotine. Davis quickly scoots to side control but his neck is still trapped. Davis pops out but is sucked into full guard. Assuncao thinks about an omoplata but then decides against it. Davis scrambles to his feet. Davis clinches him against the fence. Very little action. They separate. Assuncao cracks Davis with a kick to the groin. Time is given so he can recover. They reengage. Assuncao charges in a pins Davis into the fence. They separate again. Assuncao scores a quick takedown just before the bell. 10-9 Assuncao.

Round 2
Davis shoots in but Assuncao sprawls beautifully. They trade punches and then clinch against the fence. Very little action. Assuncao finally scores the takedown against the cage a minute later. Davis trying to wall walk but Assuncao is like a boa. Finally Davis stands up. They separate. Davis is coming forward with a decent right jab from the southpaw stance. They clinch against the cage again. Very dull fight and the crows is growing a bit restless. They separate again and size each other up. Both men very cautious on the feet. 10-9 Assuncao.

Round 3
Assuncao lands three meager low kicks. They both miss wild, loopy punches. They clinch and Assuncao pins him into the cage. Again. They separate. They open up their attacks but neither man lands anything clean. Both men are kickboxing very passively. Davis misses a left head kick. Assuncao charges in and presses Davis up into the cage. He scores the takedown and Davis pulls guard. A minute left and Davis needs a submission to win. Davis scrambles back to his feet. low kick by Assuncao. Single leg attempt by Davis is stuffed. They stand and the fight's over. Very close round. 10-9 Assuncao.

Official scores: 30-27 (all) for Assuncao, the winner by unanimous decision.

Damacio Page vs. Demetrious Johnson
Round 1
Josh Rosenthal in charge of the main card’s first fight. Page rushes in with long punches and sticks Johnson with a knee before losing the battle for a takedown. Johnson grabs a guillotine from north-south, but Page works back to his feet. Good combo and a knee from Johnson before Page tosses him to the mat. Page pressing Johnson’s against the base of the cage, kneeing to the body as he passes to half-guard, then full mount. Johnson squirms free and Page grabs a guillotine as they stand, but soon lets it go. Another hip toss from Page, they stand, and Johnson gets a takedown. When they stand once more, Page waist-locks and slams Johnson to the mat with authority. The round ends with Page jamming Johnson into the fence.

Round 2
High, hard switch kick from Johnson opens the round. They tie up, Page latches on to a single leg and drives Johnson down, again pressing him into the cage and trying to hop into mount. Johnson escapes to the feet and they separate, where upon an errant kick from Johnson catches Page square in the groin. Page recovers after a minute or two and they restart. Johnson fires off some leg kicks, and then powers through a double-leg takedown. Johnson attempts to take Page’s back, but can’t do it as Page works back to his feet. Johnson slams right back down and looks to pass, but Page uses the cage to walk and maintain full guard. Hard, short punches coming from Johnson in Page’s guard, and he just misses with an ill-intentioned elbow. Johnson lands a knee to an almost-downed Page as Page tries to stand and gets a warning from Josh Rosenthal as the round ends.

Round 3
Both men come out firing, but a knee from Johnson finds its mark and sends Page reeling backward. Johnson chases him down and lands a solid kick to a hunched-over Page. Now working from Page’s half-guard, Johnson unleashes more punches and elbows. Page tries to stand and Johsnon grabs a guillotine. Johnson rolls and wrenches the choke from the topside to force the tap from Page. The official time of the submission is 2:27 of round three.

Joseph Benavidez vs. Wagnney Fabiano
Round 1
Kim Winslow is in the cage to officiate this bantamweight contest. Fabiano looks to touch gloves, but Benavidez ignores the gesture. Fabiano trying to establish his jab from outside while Benavidez stands in the center, connecting with a few hard one-two combinations. The two southpaws trade tentative-but-hard shots for the opening two minutes. Benavidez slips on a switch kick, eats a punch from Fabiano that cuts under his left eye. Now Fabiano slips on a kick. Solid kick to the ribs by Benavidez, and Fabiano returns the favor. Benavidez switching up his stance, wading in with combinations and putting Fabiano’s back to the fence. Benavidez looks for a single-leg in the final minute, then abandons it, and the two exchange kicks to the end of the frame.

Round 2
The fighters exchange low kicks, but Fabiano slips on his and winds up on his back. Benavidez kicks at his legs and tries to throw hard shots through the guard. Fabiano drives forward for a single-leg and winds up caught in a guillotine from Benavidez. Fabiano rolls and frees himself, but the tenacious Benavidez stays on it and tries the choke again. Once more, Fabiano escapes and winds up on top, then passes to Benavidez’s left. Benavidez bucks and rolls Fabiano off of him, then zaps him with a hard right uppercut. Benavidez goes for the guillotine once more, and this time it’s time it’s awfully tight. Fabiano hesitates briefly, but is forced to tap at 2:45 of round two.

Erik Koch vs. Francisco Rivera
Round 1
Referee Steve Mazzagatti in charge of this 145-pound tilt. Koch connecting with kicks to the body as Rivera looks to come over the top with his right hand. A perfectly-timed left high kick from Koch lands flush on Rivera’s jaw and Rivera falls to his back, still conscious but helpless as Koch pounds him out with a few hammerfists. Mazzagatti dives in to rescue Rivera from further punishment at the 1:36 mark of the opening period.

Chad Mendes vs. Javier Vazquez
Round 1
Herb Dean officiates the featherweight co-main event. Mendes rushes in with a combination and Vazquez goes low, trying to pick the ankle. Vazquez winds up on his back with Mendes kicking at his legs from above. Mendes catches a low kick and plows Vazquez to the mat, where Vazquez tries to work rubber guard. To break the guard, Mendes picks Vazquez up and slams him back down. Vazquez trying to push off the hips of Mendes, possibly looking for a triangle. More rubber guard from Vazquez as he lands short punches to Mendes’ face. Omoplata by Vazquez on the right arm of Mendes, and Javier connects with a few short elbows. Mendes not mounting much offense from the top as he tries to stack the busier Vazquez up at the base of the cage.

Round 2
A flying knee grazes off Vazquez, a follow-up combo from Mendes appears to land cleaner. Vazquez pulls rubber guard, but has it slammed loose by Mendes, who throws some hard elbow across the face of Vazquez. Vazquez doing well to tie up and frustrate Mendes, landing pestering palm strikes to either side of the wrestler’s head. Mendes stands and tries to pass Vazquez’s guard with a full-on flip, but winds up back in full guard following a scramble. Head-and-arm control for Mendes as Vazquez tries to walk up the fence. Not seeing enough action, Herb Dean stands them up with 30 seconds left. The round ends with both men feinting and posturing.

Round 3
Mendes plows Vazquez down, where Vazquez continues to keep active with palm strikes and short punches. Mendes lets him up and lands a head kick, prompting another takedown-slash-guard pull. Short elbows from the top by Mendes, but it’s not enough for Dean, who restarts them on the feet with two minutes left. A three-piece from Mendes causes Vazquez to offer up his guard again, and Mendes follows him down. There’s blood streaming from under the right eye of Vazquez as Mendes gets busy on top. Rubber guard and palm strikes from Vazquez as the final minute winds down. Mendes stacks Vazquez up and dives back into guard, finishing with a flurry of punches to the body.

Urijah Faber vs. Takeya Mizugaki
Round 1
Josh Rosenthal back in the cage to oversee the main event. No touch of gloves as Mizugaki starts throwing hands and Faber shoves him away. Mizugaki lands a combo, and a right hand to counter a Faber low kick, and the two clinch up against the fence with Faber’s back to the cage. Spinning loose, Faber looks to takes Mizugaki’s back, but settles for the dominant clinch position. Mizugaki sneaks a knee on the outside. Short elbow from in close by Faber. Mizugaki grabs underhooks and spins Faber into the cage. They break and go back to slugging it out. Body blow lands for Faber, counter left from Mizugaki. Faber looks for a guillotine as Mizugaki drops to his knees, then spins around and hops on the Japanese fighter’s back. Faber looking to sink in the rear-naked choke with less than a minute remaining. Mizugaki falls to the mat and defends for a moment, but Faber slips his arm under Mizugaki’s chin and squeezes tight. Mizugaki rolls into the cage and refuses to tap, and Faber puts him out cold. The official time is 4:50 of round one.
