Mixed martial artist Liam McCracken had an unfortunate accident involving a bus on Tuesday, Sept. 12, on Pilch Lane East in Huyton, England. The 22-year-old, who recently became a father and was set to face Tony Silva in a lightweight bout on Oct. 20’s Anthony Pettis FC 8 card, was on his way to coach a one-on-one session at his gym, Aspire MMA, in Liverpool.

The incident has left McCracken with broken bones in his back, pelvis, ribs and a serious injury to one leg. He also suffered ear and lip injuries and a deep gash on his head that goes down to the skull.
Despite his wounds, the young father was reportedly concerned about the bus occupants' safety when he returned to his senses. Sharing details of a conversation between McCracken and his mother, Turner told The ECHO:
“His mum said when he woke up he was asking if the bus driver and everyone on the bus was OK, his mum was saying, ‘never mind the bus driver, how about you.’ He said when he was under the bus he thought if he fell asleep he was going to die, so he was awake the whole time and he kept saying his daughter's name.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to aid with the recovery of the 5-1 featherweight prospect, whose primary source of income is coaching and fighting.
