UFC on Fuel TV 4 Bonuses: Weidman, Caceres, Te Huna, Beltran Earn $40,000 Each

Four competitors took home post-fight bonuses from UFC on Fuel TV 4, as Chris Weidman, Alex Caceres, James Te Huna and Joey Beltran each banked an extra $40,000 on Wednesday night at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif.

Weidman was awarded “Knockout of the Night” for his second-round stoppage of Mark Munoz in the evening's middleweight main event, and Caceres earned “Submission of the Night” after tapping Damacio Page with a triangle choke during the preliminary proceedings. Meanwhile, Te Huna and Beltran secured “Fight of the Night” honors for their co-headlining light heavyweight duel.

Weidman wasted little time in establishing his dominance in the pivotal middleweight affair, snatching a single-leg takedown and putting Munoz on the canvas, where “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” would stay for the remainder of the frame as Weidman controlled him and attempted submissions. Round two would begin in the same fashion, and although Munoz managed to escape to his feet, that development would ultimately lead to his undoing, as he was caught by a short elbow during a punching exchange that caused him to wobble and then fall face-first to the canvas. Weidman followed up with devastating ground-and-pound to earn the biggest win of his career to date.

Though Page managed to put Caceres [pictured] on his back in round one, his ground-and-pound gradually diminished throughout the frame as “Bruce Leroy” threatened to submit him with a triangle choke and then an armbar. While “The Angel of Death” escaped those attempts, he could not repeat the trick in round two, as Caceres slipped his leg over Page's shoulder during a punch attempt and tightened the fight-ending triangle until the Jackson's MMA product tapped out.

It looked as though it would be a short night for Beltran in round one when Te Huna began to unload with heavy punches, buckling the former heavyweight with a snapping left hook and briefly mounting him as he looked to finish his fallen prey. “The Mexicutioner” gamely survived the onslaught and built momentum as the fight wore on, but ultimately Te Huna was awarded a unanimous decision by the cage-side judges.
