UFC on ESPN 8 Medical Suspensions: Four Fighters Facing 180-Day Layoffs

Four fighters are looking at a potentially lengthy time on
the sidelines following
UFC on ESPN 8 .
The Florida State Boxing Commission released a full list of medical
suspensions from the event to Sherdog.com on Monday. UFC on ESPN 8
took place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville,
Florida, on Saturday and saw Alistair
Overeem defeat Walt Harris
by second-round technical knockout in the evening’s headliner. Both
Overeem and Harris received 45-day suspensions from the FSBC, which
does not disclose the specific nature of each medical
suspension.
The following four athletes were suspended for 180 days pending
medical clearance: Miguel
Baeza , Giga
Chikadze , Irwin
Rivera and Mara
Romero Borella .
