This marks the second UFC main event for Dern (12-2), who previously came up short against Marina Rodriguez over five rounds. Besides that setback, the American has won six of her last seven bouts. The grappler most recently defeated Tecia Torres via split decision. Dern stepped on the scale weighing 115.5 pounds.
Meanwhile, Yan (15-3, 1 NC) is coming off two straight setbacks. "Fury" also lost a decision to Rodriguez, and she was pounded out by future champion Carla Esparza. Before the losses, Yan had won six straight fights inside the Octagon. Yan also officially weighed 115.5 pounds.
UFC Fight Night 211 will stream entirely on ESPN+ on Saturday. Prelims begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, while the main card kicks off at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
