After a streak of events on ESPN airwaves, the UFC returns to ESPN+ for UFC Fight Night 191. The 10-fight card is headlined by a bout between middleweight contenders Derek Brunson and Darren Till. The weigh-ins went swimmingly with the first 19 competitors, but the last one to hit the scales, Jonathan Martinez, surpassed the bantamweight limit by two pounds. Per ESPN on Friday night, his bout has been canceled due to complications from his weight cut.
The 37-year-old Brunson (22-7) will look to continue the best run
of his career. Riding a four-fight win streak, Brunson has won two
straight main events by picking up a TKO over Edmen
Shahbazyan and winning a dominant decision over Kevin
Holland. Brunson tipped the scale at 186 pounds.
Looking to get back on track after a disappointing performance against Robert Whittaker, Till (18-3-1) finds himself in his sixth UFC headliner. Prior to his setback against "Bobby Knuckles,” Till made his successful middleweight debut against Kelvin Gastelum. This shift up a division came following an end to his welterweight run that saw him get submitted by Tyron Woodley and knocked out by Jorge Masvidal. Till officially weighed 185.5 pounds for his third middleweight bout.
The UFC Fight Night 191 main card kicks off at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT on ESPN+, while the prelims begin at 1:30 p.m. ET/10:30 a.m. PT.
