After delighting the Aussie MMA fans for their excellent performances at UFC Fight Night 142 on Saturday night, the quartet of Mauricio Rua, Sodiq Yusuff, Kai Kara-France and Elias Garcia pocketed a cool $50,000 apiece.

Yusuff was awarded the first “Performance of the Night” prize by walloping local kid Suman Mokhtarian with a tempest of punches before stopping him in the first. The Nigerian rocked Mokhtarian’s equilibrium with a right to the temple. From there, “Super” never stopped punching and with his opponent dazed and covering up against the cage, he forced a referee stoppage, making a grand arrival into the UFC.
Finally, one of the greatest to ever to wear fingerless gloves, Rua was his usual self, which is a man in the middle of a bloody, violent war. “Shogun” was nearly knocked out in the first when opponent Tyson Pedro battered him punches to the head, but the Brazilian legend recovered his senses and eventually turned the tables. Rua dominated the Aussie in the second with vicious ground-and-pound and then took him out early in the third. Pedro apparently injured his leg in the battle and crumbled under his own pressure when Rua drilled him with a right. Rua quickly finished him once the fight hit the deck.
