UFC 180 Update: Humberto Brown-Gabriel Benitez Added to Nov. 15 Card

A featherweight bout pitting Humberto Brown Morrison against Gabriel Benitez has been added to UFC 180 in Mexico City.

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the pairing on Saturday. The pay-per-view event features an interim heavyweight title fight between Mark Hunt and Fabricio Werdum, as well as a co-main event of Jake Ellenberger versus Kelvin Gastelum.

The two 145-pound fighters were on opposing teams during the “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America” reality show.

Brown, a native of Panama, carries a 4-4 record into his showdown with Benitez. Three of Brown’s victories of have come by way of submission, as have three of his losses.

With 20 fights already under his belt, Benitez will have a substantial experience edge when he first steps foot inside the Octagon. The 26-year-old has finished 14 of his 16 fights; among his four career defeats is a unanimous decision setback against current UFC talent Yaotzin Meza.
