The lineup for UFC Fight Night 173 continues to take shape, as three more bouts were recently confirmed for the April 25 card.
Roosevelt Roberts will square off against Matt Frevola at lightweight, while Christos Giagos will lock horns with Alan Patrick Silva Alves in another 155-pound encounter. Finally, Raphael Pessoa will welcome Alexander Romanov to the Octagon at heavyweight.
UFC Fight Night 173 takes place at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb., and is headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira. The card will stream on ESPN+.
Roberts has won three of his four promotional appearances since earning a UFC contract on Season 2 of Dana White’s Contender Series. Also a Contender Series alum, Frevola is coming off back-to-back triumphs against Jalin Turner and Luis Pena in 2019.
Giagos had a two-bout winning streak snapped at UFC 241, where he dropped a unanimous verdict against Drakkar Klose. Alves, meanwhile, saw a three-fight winning streak come to an in end his most recent outing, as he suffered a third-round knockout loss to Scott Holtzman at UFC 229.
Pessoa rebounded from a submission loss to Ciryl Gane in his Octagon debut to outpoint Jeff Hughes at UFC Fight Night 162 this past October. A 29-year-old native of the Republic of Moldova, Romanov enters his first promotional foray with an 11-0 mark.
