Three New Bouts Announced for UFC 236 in Atlanta on April 13



The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced three more fights for UFC 236, including Eryk Anders moving up to 205 pounds to face Khalil Rountree.

Anders was last seen in the Octagon at UFC 231, where he took on Elias Theodorou and lost the fight by split decision. Before that, he lost to Thiago Santos in a short notice light heavyweight bout by TKO just a month after beating Tim Williams by knockout.

Rountree, meanwhile last fought in November where he took on Johnny Walker. Rountree lost the fight by knockout in the first, after an impressive win over Gohkan Saki in his previous fight.

The other two fights the UFC announced are Ovince Saint Preux vs. Nikita Krylov at 205 pounds and Montel Jackson vs. Andre Soukhamthath at bantamweight.

Saint Preux and Krylov previously fought in 2014, when OSP submitted Krylov in the first round at UFC 171. Now, Saint Preux is looking to get back in the win column after a decision loss to Dominick Reyes at UFC 229. Krylov’s last appeared at UFC Fight Night 136, where he lost to Jan Blachowicz by submission in September.

Meanwhile, two bantamweight prospects in Jackson and Soukhamthath are set to square off. Jackson last fought at UFC 232 and scored an impressive submission win over Brian Kelleher. Meanwhile, Soukhamthath got back in the win column in October with a decision win over Jonathan Martinez after losing to Sean O’Malley by decision.

On Friday night, it was reported Max Holloway would move up to lightweight to take on Dustin Poirier vs for the interim lightweight championship, which could also serve as the main event. Meanwhile, in the co-main event, another interim title will be on the line as Israel Adesanya takes on Kelvin Gastelum for the interim middleweight championship.

UFC 236’s bout order has yet to be finalized as more fights will be announced, but the card goes down on April 13 in Atlanta.
