“Copa Combate” takes place in Cancun, Mexico and begins at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT. The winner of the eight-man bracket will take home a $100,000 purse. The Telemundo portion of the broadcast will air the semifinals and finals of the tournament. The quarterfinal bouts will stream live on the Telemundo Deportes En Vivo app and on TelemundoDeportes.com.

Telemundo Deportes provides Spanish sporting content in the United States and notably will broadcast the World Cup through 2026 and the Summer Olympics through 2032. The network also airs the U.S. and Mexican men’s national team away games, Premier League soccer and various other sports content.

“Telemundo Deportes is committed to continue expanding its portfolio of sports events, and we are thrilled to partner with Combate Americas to bring this unique MMA tournament to millions of Hispanic viewers,” Telemundo Deportes President Ray Warren said in a release. “Copa Combate is a tournament created for our core audience featuring an exciting format and a diverse group of Hispanic competitors, and we look forward to an historic broadcast.”

The eight competitors in the tournament hail from a variety of countries, including the U.S., Argentina, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Colombia and Peru. They are as follows: John Castaneda, Marcelo Rojo, Carlos Rivera, Mikey Erosa, Marc Gomez, Andres Ayala, Kevin Moreyra and Ricky Palacios. The top four fighters will be given seedings based on their “worldwide rankings,” according to the release. Opponents for the top four seeds will be determined via a lottery drawing.

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Telemundo Deportes and to bring back to life, live on Telemundo, the leading U.S. broadcast television network, the most thrilling format for competitive fighting that was responsible for changing the combat sports world forever when I introduced the UFC in 1993,” Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren said.
