One Championship returned to Thailand this week, as One: Dreams of Gold went down in Bangkok on Aug. 16.

The MMA main event saw One kickboxing star Nong Stamp taking on undefeated Indian fighter Asha Roka. Everybody was already aware of the Thai fighter’s striking skills, but the Fairtex Gym representative showed that she can be a real threat on the ground as well. In only her second MMA fight, “Stamp Fairtex” felt comfortable in moving the action to the canvas, striking from top position and threatening her opponent with several submission attempts. Eventually, Stamp closed a tight rear-naked choke, forcing her opponent to tap at the 1:29 mark of the third round. The win moves Stamp to 2-0, while Roka falls to 4-1.

In the MMA co-main event, Brazil’s Alex Silva locked horns with Indonesian fighter Stefer Rahardian. Evolve MMA representative Silva ground his way through the match by landing numerous takedowns and imposing his suffocating top game. Eventually, Silva’s strategy paid off, as “Little Rock” secured a highlight-reel armbar submission at the very end of the second round, snapping a three-bout losing skid in One’s bantamweight division and moving him to 8-4 overall.

In the first MMA bout of the main card, former “The Ultimate Fighter” and Dana White's Contender Series competitor Thanh Le sent Kotetsu Boku to the canvas with a beautiful three-piece combination that ended with a vicious right hook, securing him the TKO win at 1:28 of the first round. Le (10-2) heads toward his next fight riding a two-bout winning streak.

Elsewhere, Yusup Saadulaev bested Shuya Kamikubo via unanimous decision; the judges awarded Chan Rothana an unanimous decision over Gustavo Eddy Balart after three rounds of war; Ryuto Sawada quickly solved the Abdul Aziz Calim puzzle by submitting him with a slick rear-naked choke at 1:09 mark of the first round; and Zhikang Zhao submitted Paulus Lumihi via rear-naked choke in the second stanza.
