Source: UFC Courting Unbeaten Dutch Prospect Kuiper
Undefeated judo stylist Michael
Kuiper is likely headed to the
UFC.
A source close to the situation informed Sherdog.com on Thursday that Kuiper (Pictured, file photo) is on the verge of signing with the world’s largest MMA promotion. However, the deal is not yet official and has not yet been announced by either the fighter or the UFC.
Only 22 years old, Kuiper has run through his competition thus far, finishing 10 of his 11 defeated foes by either knockout or submission. Team Calmaro (Holland) representative has fought twice already in 2011, knocking out Clarence Noordzee at a Belgian event in March before doing the same to Morris Cilfoni two months later in Italy.
Kuiper has knocked out five of his opponents in the first round, including Noordzee and Cilfoni. “Judo” has fought the entirety of his career in Europe, competing in his home country of The Netherlands, as well as in Germany and Spain. In addition to his six career knockouts, the middleweight holds four submission victories to his credit, the last of which occurred in November against Baudin Egoluev at Ultimate Takedown “Brazil vs. Belgium.”
