Report: Tyron Woodley Requires Hand Surgery, Out 8 to 12 Weeks
Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight king Tyron
Woodley won’t be fighting as soon as he had hoped, as a thumb
injury sustained at UFC
228 in his conquest of Darren Till
will keep him on the sideline.
ESPN reported on Friday that Woodley would be out a minimum 8 to 12
weeks after impending surgery on his right hand.
Woodley defeated Till after dropping him with a massive overhand
counter in the second round before laying down some brutal punches
and elbows. Woodley then finished the fight with a brabo choke.
The champion was initially optimistic about a quick turnaround, as
Usman’s name was thrown around for a potential UFC 230
showdown at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 3.
