RFA 41 Weigh-in Results: Clark, Giles Ready for Middleweight Showdown

Las Vegas-based MMA promotion Resurrection Fighting Alliance will make its maiden voyage into Texas Friday night with RFA 41. Headlining the marquee will be an intriguing middleweight showdown between Josh Clark and Trevin Giles, which should bring excitement to the fans watching inside the Cowboys Dancehall in San Antonio.

Clark gained some notoriety when he was cast on The Ultimate Fighter Season 19. Whilst on the show, the Kentuckian submitted John Poppie before dropping a majority decision to eventual season winner Corey Anderson at light heavyweight. Now he has his sights set on Giles and at Thursday’s weigh-in, he came in at a ready 186 pounds.

The unbeaten Giles, meanwhile, has been on a tear since turning pro, beating every man he’s faced by either submission or knockout. The Texan is aiming to keep things going in the right direction against Clark, who will pose as the biggest test of his career. Giles looked ready as could be on the scale and nailed it as well, weighing in officially at 183.8 pounds, greenlighting the main event.

The RFA 41 co-feature will see featherweight contender Jamall Emmers taking on Rivaldo Junior, who has already competed for Shooto Brasil and Jungle Fight in his native Brazil. Emmers tipped the scale at 149 pounds, though, and will be allowed to weigh in again Friday morning at 11 a.m. CT. The two camps agreed on a catchweight of 152 pounds; if Emmers misses weight again, the fight is off. Junior, meanwhile clocked in at 144.2 pounds.

RFA 41 will be televised live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
