Patricio Freire Says He Is Better than the Best Fighters in the UFC

At Bellator 221, Patricio Freire became just the second fighter in Bellator MMA history to become a simultaneous two-division champion.

In the main event, he knocked out lightweight champion Michael Chandler in just 61 seconds. However, when the ref stepped in, Chandler got up immediately which led some to believe he was never out. According to "Pitbull," though, he knows Chandler was out but doesn't mind running it back.

"Everyone who knows anything about fighting knows he was knocked down and stop reacting for a few seconds when he was on the ground," he said to Bloody Elbow on Thursday. "When that happens, the rules are clear, the fight must be stopped. He showed no reactions for a second or two and was completely unconscious. When he started to move again, the ref had already waved off the fight. Regardless of what happens, though, we can have a rematch, no problem. I'll beat him 11 times out of 10."

As for what the new champ-champ wants next, he told MMAJunkie.com earlier this week that he would take a boxing match against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. He also wouldn't mind fighting a champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He doesn't care who, all he knows is he is better than them all.

"I'm very comfortable in Bellator. It would be interesting to have a super fight between a Bellator champion and a UFC champion," he added. "I wouldn't have to necessarily migrate to the UFC. We could just have one duel. When it comes to the best fighters in the UFC, I think I'm better than all of them."
