The lineups for the first two Professional Fighters League Challengers Series events are now official.
Promotion officials announced the matchups for the cards on Monday. The first Challenger Series event features light heavyweights on Feb. 18 and is headlined by a clash between two-division Legacy Fighting Alliance champion Joshua Silveira and Mohamed Juma.
The remaining 205-pound pairings are as follows: Alexander Poppeck vs. Taylor Johnson; Joao Paulo Fagundes vs. Bruce Souto and Simeon Powell vs. Karl Williams.
Meanwhile, the following week will highlight welterweight athletes with a card topped by a showdown between Brave Combat Federation champion Jarrah Al-Silawi and Michael Lilly. Additional matchups for the Feb. 25 card include: Dilano Taylor vs. Mark Martin; Carlos Leal Miranda vs. Socrates Pierre and Lucas Barbosa vs. Troy Green.
The PFL Challenger Series allows fighters to earn a PFL contract and the opportunity to compete in the promotion’s season format. The cards will be held at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla. and air exclusively on Fubo Sports Network.
“It has been a great experience for myself and our team as we went in search of the best fighters from all over the world,” said PFL president of fighter operations Ray Sefo. “We are proud of the roster of elite fighters that will be on display starting Feb. 18 when our light heavyweights step into the cage. I am very excited to see these amazing athletes square off for this life-changing opportunity. And then we’re going to do it all over again, one week later, with the welterweights.”
