Lucio Linhares Meets Kyle Baker at CWFC Fight Night 4 in Dubai

The card for CWFC Fight Night 4 continues to develop, as the English promotion recently announced that UFC veteran Lucio Linhares will square off with Kyle Baker at the March 16 event.

Taking place at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the event marks the fourth event promoted by Cage Warriors Fighting Championship so far this year. The show will be headlined by a heavyweight title main event between German export Andreas Kraniotakes and former Bellator talent Mike Hayes.

Linhares, 38, was released by the UFC in 2010 following back-to-back defeats to Rousimar Palhares and Yushin Okami. The middleweight responded to his Octagon exit by posting three consecutive wins, finishing Mitch Whitesel, Xavier Foupa-Pokam and Salvator Casilli. Linhares was knocked out in his most recent outing, however, falling to Kenny Robertson via spinning-back fist on Oct. 1.

A winner in nine of his last 11 outings, Baker, 31, owns notable career victories over Drew Fickett, LeVon Maynard and Chad Reiner. A veteran of the American local circuit, “Alley Cat” last competed on Aug. 27 for the North American Allied Fight Series, earning a knockout over Nick Duell in just 85 seconds.

Rounding out the announced draw will be a women’s collision between Jennifer Maia and Shelia Gaff, a lightweight confrontation featuring Mansour Barnaoui and Brad Wheeler, and a flyweight scrap pitting Casey Dyer against Phil Harris.
