Legacy FC 44 Weigh-in Results: Araujo, Morono on Target for Main Event

On Friday night, Legacy Fighting Championship will host its 44th event and thankfully for the promotion, the main-card fighters on the bill weighed in according to plan. To be held inside the Arena Theatre in Houston, Legacy FC 44’s main card will air live on AXS TV starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT on Friday.

Main event fighters Valdir Araujo and Alex Morono both came in below the welterweight limit, officially approving their fight. Morono was the first to step to the scale and he clocked in at 171 pounds. Araujo followed suit and tipped the scale at the exact poundage.

Not to be outdone, the co-featured bout between Rocky Long and Sage Northcutt was given the green light even though only one of the combatants easily made the 165-pound catchweight limit. Long, filling in as a late replacement for Andrew Parker, came in at 166.4 pounds. Northcutt was next and nailed it, weighing 165.2 pounds. Northcutt agreed to take the fight anyway.

Justin Reiswerg originally came in too heavy for the lightweight limit. He was given one hour to cut four ounces in order for his fight with Carrington Banks to be approved without penalty.

Another lightweight bout had a mishap on the scale when Jonathan Harris came in at 157.7 pounds while opponent Rey Trujillo clocked in at 153. After some debate, Trujillo decided to take the fight anyway.
