Justin Gaethje Tells Conor McGregor ‘Stop S----ing on the Integrity of the Sport’
As he has been known to do more and more frequently when a big fight occurs in combat sports, Conor McGregor to Twitter to share his thoughts following Andy Ruiz’s massive upset of Anthony Joshua in boxing this past weekend.
While the Irishman praised Ruiz, he also mused on a potential return to the Sweet Science and a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. McGregor lost to Mayweather via 10th round technical knockout in their first meeting in August 2017.

That post drew the ire of UFC lightweight contender Justin Gaethje, who ripped the “Notorious” one in a reply on Twitter.
“Do it the right way p---y. Stop s----ing on the integrity of the sport,” Gaethje wrote. “You want [Khabib Nurmagomedov] again you fight me, or the winner of Cowboy and Ferguson or get the f—k out of here and enjoy all that money.”
With Nurmagomedov scheduled for his next title defense against Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 and Tony Ferguson and Donald Cerrone slated to square off at UFC 238 on Saturday, options appear limited for McGregor when it comes to the promotion’s lightweight division. Gaethje, a former World Series of Fighting champion who is coming off back-to-back first-round knockouts of Edson Barboza and James Vick, would make for an entertaining dance partner if the SBG Ireland representative accepted the bout.
Of course, McGregor could elect to wait and see how things play out in the coming months. UFC president Dana White recently said he ”absolutely could” see McGregor getting a rematch with Nurmagom
edov down the road, although he didn’t specify if that would require winning a fight in the interim. “Conor wants that fight. Conor wants the rematch with Khabib,” White said. “All these guys have been fighting, again, this thing’s going to play out this weekend and then Sept. 7 in Abu Dhabi, and then we’ll figure out what’s next for Conor.”
McGregor has fought just once in the Octagon since 2016, losing to Nurmagomedov by fourth-round submission in the UFC 229 headliner this past October.
