John Lineker Silences Kevin Belingon at One: Inside the Matrix 3

One Championship broadcasted the tape-delayed third part of the “Inside the Matrix” series on Nov. 13.

In the main event of One: Inside the Matrix 3, Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran John Lineker faced Kevin Belingon in the bantamweight division. The contenders put on a fistfight in the first round, which saw many exchanges between Lineker and the former champ. The Brazilian had some success with his uppercuts that tested Belingon’s chin more than once. “The Silencer” attempted to quell Lineker’s aggressiveness with his wushu style, but other than a few flashy kicks, his strategy largely didn’t pan out.

In the second stanza, the Brazilian brawler kept landing on Belingon’s head and body with a plethora of punches. Just over a minute into the round, “Hands of Stone” caught Belingon with one of his uppercuts, forcing “The Silencer” to take a knee. The Brazilian fighter finished the contest with a few follow-up punches at 1:16. In the post-fight interview, Lineker called out the current divisional champion Bibiano Fernandes.

The co-main event pitted former flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio against Min Jong Song. The contenders engaged in a bout that saw Eustaquio circling around “The Running Man,” attacking from different angles with his boxing combinations. The unorthodox Korean fighter attempted to counter the shots, but he could do nothing to prevent his opponent from landing constantly. In the third, Song pushed the pace on the feet before dragging the fight to the ground, where the Korean tested “Gravity” with some submissions. Even though nothing landed, they provided Song with his best moments in the contest. Eventually, all three judges rewarded Eustaquio with a well-deserved unanimous decision victory.

Earlier on the card, Murad Ramazanov earned a unanimous decision victory over Hiroyuki Tetsuka. Elsewhere, Fan Rong spoiled the MMA debut of Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Yuri Simoes by taking a unanimous decision after three hard-fought rounds. In the first battle on the card, Koha Minowa edged Lito Adiwang by split verdict.
