Joanne Calderwood, Lauren Murphy to Square Off at UFC 263 on June 12

A women’s flyweight bout with title implications is on tap for UFC 263, as Joanne Calderwood will square off with Lauren Murphy on June 12.

MMAjunkie.com was first to report the pairing. UFC 263 is headlined by a flyweight championship rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. The card does not have an official location or venue.

Calderwood was victorious in her first appearance of 2021, outpointing former title challenger Jessica Eye at UFC 257 on Jan. 23. The 34-year-old Scotland native is 7-5 in UFC competition, with notable wins over Andrea Lee, Ariane Lipski, Valerie Letourneau and Seo Hee Ham.

Murphy, meanwhile, enters the matchup with Calderwood on a four-bout winning streak at 125 pounds. Most recently, “Lucky” tapped out Liliya Shakirova in the second round at UFC 254 this past October.The former Invicta FC title holder has also bested Roxanne Modafferi, Lee and Mara Romero Borella during her current tear.
