MMAFighting.com was first to report the booking. The card takes place at Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and is headlined by a featherweight scrap between Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige. The card will air on ESPN and ESPN+. Rivera and Stamann normally compete at 135 pounds.
After beginning his promotional tenure with five consecutive triumphs, Rivera has lost three of his last four UFC appearances. Most recently, the 31-year-old Team Tiger Schulmann representative dropped a three-round verdict to top bantamweight contender Petr Yan at UFC 238. “El Terror” owns notable wins over the likes of Urijah Faber, Pedro Munhoz and John Dodson.
Stamann, meanwhile, has been victorious in five of his first seven UFC bouts, with a loss to Aljamain Sterling and a majority draw vs. Yadong Song the only blemishes on his Octagon ledger thus far. In his last outing, Stamann outpointed Brian Kelleher at UFC 250.
