Jasmine Jasudavicius really wanted to punish Priscila Cachoeira during their UFC 297 clash.

Jasudavicius was originally scheduled to face Cachoeira at flyweight but was told a day before the weigh-ins that the Brazilian couldn’t make weight. Jasudavicius let her coaches make the call, and they agreed to a bantamweight clash.

However, the Canadian was upset at her opponent’s lack of professionalism and wanted to “torture” her going into the clash. Jasudavicius put on a record-breaking beating on Cachoeira en route to a third-round submission victory in front of her home fans in Toronto. Jasudavicius outlanded her opponent 326-26 in total strikes, which is the biggest strike differential in UFC women’s bantamweight history.

“The entire time that I was in there I was just trying to beat her up, man,” Jasudavicious told reporters after the win. “It pissed me off, that weight discrepancy man. The thing that she did with the weight, it pissed me off so much. So the first round I just wanted to torture her a little bit. Like be professional, come on. We agreed to this weight so long ago.”

Even if she wasn’t fighting in her home country, Jasudavicius confirmed that she would have accepted the change in weight class. The Canadian was not concerned about a size difference with Cachoeira, as the Brazilian naturally fights at flyweight.

“Yeah, well I didn’t care. 100%. If I sign my name on a dotted line to fight, I’m fighting,” she said. I don’t care. Like how big is she gonna be, she normally fights at 125 [lbs]. I just think she sucks at cutting weight.”

Jasudavicius also earned 30% of Cachoeira’s purse due to the last-minute change but would have liked it to be more.

“I am getting the 30% because this isn’t her first miss. So the max that they allow in Ontario is 30%. Honestly, I wish it was more because it’s another weight class,” she said. “It’s not like it’s three pounds, five pounds, it’s a whole new weight class. But, whatever. I’ll take the 30% and I’ll buy something nice.”
