Jan Blachowicz Replaces ‘Minotouro’ Nogueira, Meets Jared Cannonier at UFC on Fox 26

Jan Blachowicz will replace Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and face Jared Cannonier at UFC on Fox 26 on Dec. 16.

Promotion officials announced the change on Tuesday. Nogueira was pulled from the card due to a potential anti-doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collected on Sept. 27. Additionally, a welterweight clash pitting Danny Roberts against Sheldon Westcott was also announced for the event.

UFC on Fox 26 takes place at the MTS Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and is headlined by a 170-pound clash between Robbie Lawler and Rafael dos Anjos. In the co-main event, Jose Aldo will take on Ricardo Lamas in a featherweight duel.

Poland’s Blachowicz halted a two-bout skid in his most recent outing at UFC Fight Night 118, where he submitted Devin Clark with a rear-naked choke in the second round on Oct. 21. The 34-year-old KSW veteran is 3-4 during a promotional tenure that also includes victories against Ilir Latifi and Igor Pokrajac.
