Hector Lombard is the latest mixed martial artist to allegedly test positive for steroids.

Sherdog.com confirmed with Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Bob Bennett that the UFC welterweight failed a drug test administered by the NAC at UFC 182 in January. MMAFighting.com first reported the news.

The former Bellator MMA competitor’s test reportedly came back positive for desoxymethyltestosterone, better known as DMT. The NAC received the results of the test on Jan. 13. Bennett told Sherdog.com that Lombard's drug screen was administered on Jan. 3, the day of the event.

Lombard defeated Josh Burkman via unanimous decision on the main card of the pay-per-view event. It remains unclear if the result of the fight will be changed to a “no contest.”

The news comes on the heels of the UFC cancelling Lombard’s upcoming bout against Rory MacDonald at UFC 186. The UFC has since confirmed to MMAFighting.com that the failed test is the reason behind the fight being scratched.

Later on Tuesday, the UFC released a statement on Lombard's failed test.

"The UFC has been notified by the Nevada State Athletic Commission that UFC welterweight Hector Lombard has tested positive for a banned substance following his fight at UFC 182: Jones vs. Cormier on Jan. 3, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nev. The UFC has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents by our athletes," it read. "As a result of his positive test, Lombard has been informed that he has violated the UFC Fighter Conduct Policy and Promotional Agreement with Zuffa, LLC. The UFC will cooperate with the commission on the matter and fully supports Lombard’s right to a due process hearing before the commission."
