A fan-favorite Ultimate Fighting Championship strawweight is going to be getting back in action in August after nearly two years away from the sport due to injury.

Herrig will be taking her first trip to the cage since October 2018, as her long layoff can be attributed to a torn ACL. Herrig has lost her last two, including a split verdict to Karolina Kowalkiewicz and a unanimous decision to Michelle Waterson both in 2018. The loss to Kowalkiewicz snapped a four-fight win streaking with victories over the likes of Cortney Casey, Alexa Grasso and Justine Kish.
Jandiroba rebounded from her first career defeat in her promotional debut against Carla Esparza by tapping out Mallory Martin in December. The former Invicta Fighting Championships strawweight champ won her first 14 fights including three with Invicta, where she toppled Mizuki Inoue to claim the vacant title. After defending it with a second round submission of Janaisa Morandin, she punched her ticket to the Octagon.
UFC 252 will be held on August 15, and the location has not yet been determined although it has been considered for the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Headlining the event is a heavyweight championship rubber match between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier. Additionally, Junior dos Santos will be taking on Jairzinho Rozenstruik at heavyweight on the card.
