Brendan Allen (185) vs. Aaron Jeffery (185.5)

Round 1

Allen immediately moves forward and lands a solid one-two combination. Allen looks confident early, urging Jeffery forward with his arms outstretched. They tie up, and Allen has a Thai clinch against the fence. Allen changes levels but Jeffery defends. Allen briefly locks up a standing arm-triangle before moving to Jeffery’s back. Allen attempts to hop on his opponent’s back but gives up on the idea. Jeffery reverses position and lands a couple knees to the body against the fence. Jeffery separates and lands some heavy punches before shooting for a takedown against the cage. Allen defends and lands some elbows to the side of the head. They’re battling in the clinch again when Allen puts Jeffery on his back with a knee down the middle. Allen follows his foe to the canvas, landing short punches. Allen looks for an arm-triangle and then transitions to Jeffery’s back, gets his hooks in and secures the rear-naked choke. It’s under the chin and Jeffery has no choice but to tap out.

Lance Lawrence (145) vs. Kevin Syler (152.5: Missed Weight)

Round 1

Lawrence moves forward but Syler cracks him with an overhand right and then a head kick, which Lawrence blocks. They tie up and jockey for position against the fence. They separate and Syler lands an uppercut to the body. Lawrence closes the distance and lands a pair of uppercuts and a knee. They’re trading in close quarters and Syler sticks a clean one-two. Syler is working his jab nicely in the early going. Syler taunts his foe and then lands another one-two combination. Syler with a hard inside leg kick. Lawrence continues to march forward, eating his share of shots. Another one-two connects for Syler and he follows with multiple jabs. Lawrence continues to attack with offense of his own, but Syler tags him with a right, and Syler’s face is busted up in the opening stanza. Syler backs Lawrence up with a series of heavy punches upstairs. The Bolivian fighter is mixing straight punches upstairs with blows to the liver. Lawrence keeps moving forward even though his face is showing plenty of damage. Syler forces the clinch and gets a takedown with about 30 seconds to go. Syler moves to his foe’s back. Lawrence stands with Syler attached as the horn sounds.

Round 2

Coming out for the second frame, Syler’s face is also showing some damage. Lawrence opens up with a nice couple jabs early on. Syler connects with a low kick. Syler gets a body lock and gets a single leg takedown despite a fence grab from Lawrence. Lawrence is active from his back, looking to set up submissions with his guard. Syler drops some heavy elbows from top position to negate that aggression. Syler is still staying busy, creating space to land hard elbows and heavy punches. He steps over into full mount. Lawrence gives up his back in a scramble. Syler goes for a choke without getting his hooks in, and Lawrence is able to escape. Syler remains on top, now in half guard. He’s pounding Lawrence with heavy right hands. Lawrence lands some punches from his back and Syler falls back for a leg lock. Lawrence is able to defend and take top position with 10 seconds remaining. He doesn’t have enough time to lock up a guillotine before the horn.

Round 3

Lawrence has a considerable hematoma on his head, but the doctor says he’s good to go. Lawrence moves forward, attacking with punches and standing elbows. Syler fires back with a hard counter. A right hand connects for Lawrence, who has opened up Syler with a cut over his nose. Lawrence just misses on a head kick. Syler attacks with a combination to the body. Lawrence changes levels for a takedown and puts Syler down against the fence. He has Syler mounted against the cage. Lawrence moves to the back and looks to slide his arm under his opponent’s chin. Lawrence has both hooks in now, but he’s limited with his back to the fence. Syler explodes and turns into top position. Syler is able to take Lawrence’s back in a scramble. He locks in a body triangle and he has a tight squeeze with the choke. Lawrence nonetheless resists and Syler relents. Lawrence is on all fours now, but Syler is still attached to his back. Lawrence rolls to his back, but Syler still has the body triangle and the dominant position. Syler is still fishing for the choke. Lawrence rolls to his knees and Syler screams and lands more punches before the fight ends.

Round 1

Prasel opens up with a couple low kicks to the lead leg of his opponent. Mayes swings and misses and Prasel ducks under and forces the clinch. Mayes attacks the body and head in close quarters and Prasel is forced to separate. Mayes follows an inside leg kick with a combination, allowing Prasel to grab a leg. Mayes pounds away with hammerfists while on one leg. Prasel tries to drag his foe down but Mayes is right back up. Mayes forces the action and Prasel lands a big knee in the clinch. Prasel grabs a leg again. Mayes maintains his balance and lands more hammerfists. Prasel gives up on the idea and they’re back in the center of the cage. Mayes just misses on overhand right. Mayes is showing a versatile standup game, even though he isn’t landing everything. Prasel lands a leg kick. Mayes steps in with a combination, ending with a right hand to the chest. He backs away and Prasel lands a low kick. Mayes steps in with a one-two but can’t quite find the range. The clacker announces that 10 seconds are left, and Mayes steps in with another one-two. Prasel evades the initial offering, but Mayes switches stances and follows up with a big left hook that drops the Brazilian immediately near the fence. Mayes dives in and drops a couple more punches before referee Jason Herzog jumps in to halt the bout. Mayes just beats the horn to get the stoppage.

Ode Osbourne (135.5) vs. Armando Villarreal (135)

Round 1

Osbourne comes out on all fours and misses a cartwheel kick. Villareal is aggressive, landing a combination. Osbourne catches a kick and dumps his man to the floor. Villareal battles back up and reverses Osbourne into the fence. They separate and are back in the center of the cage. Villareal lands a left and forces the clinch. Osbourne lands a knee on the break and then wobbles Villareal with a punch. Villareal shoots but Osbourne stuffs it. Villareal blocks a head kick, but the impact resonates. Villareal clinches with Osbourne. Osbourne turns off the cage and lands a knee. Villareal catches a leg and lets it go. Osbourne immediately follows with a front kick that knocks his foe’s mouthpiece free. Villareal recovers and gets Osbourne to the canvas. He goes to work from top position inside Osbourne’s full guard. Villareal drops an elbow to the face. Another short, powerful elbow lands for Villareal. Osbourne is staying active with his guard, and in a matter of moments he frames an armbar from his back. The submission is tight and seconds later, Villareal verbally submits.

Stephen Regman (184.5) vs. Antonio Arroyo (185.5)

Round 1

Arroyo begins with a pair of heavy left kicks to the body. He changes levels and attacks with snapping low kicks. Regman has had enough and rushes forward with punches. Arroyo’s kicks, to the legs and body, are quite audible, although so far Regman seems unaffected. Another body kick from Arroyo, who is much larger than his opponent. Regman catches a low kick and attacks with a punching combination, but nothing really connects cleanly. Arroyo still working behind a toolbox of kicks. Regman lands a low kick of his own. Arroyo follows a low kick with a spinning kick to the midsection. Moments later, Regman catches a kick and puts Arroyo on his back. Regman has a hold of the neck as Arroyo attempts to scramble up. Regman is working for a brabo choke, but Arroyo maintains an underhook to defend it for now. They stand and Regman lands a knee to the face on the break. Regman counters a low kick with a straight right. Arroyo with a front kick to the body.

Round 2

Regman begins with an inside low kick. Regman ducks under a spinning high kick and takes Arroyo down. Regman scrambles into top position, as Arroyo uses a partial butterfly guard. Arroyo scrambles up shortly thereafter. Arroyo backs Regman into the fence and lands a low kick. Seconds later, Arroyo drops Regman with a big high kick. Arroyo follows his man down, flurrying with ground-and-pound in pursuit of the finish. Regman regains his bearings but Arroyo stands and clears the legs, dropping a big right hand. Arroyo in a dominant position against the fence, as he has his opponent’s leg trapped and lands big right hands. Arroyo transitions to an arm-triangle choke and quickly passes to the correct side to finish the submission. Arroyo uses his foot to push off the fence and create some more distance to improve the maneuver. Regman hangs on for a few moments but is eventually forced to tap.
