Dakota Ditcheva Aiming for Another 'Vicious' Outing Against Lisa Mauldin at PFL 1

Dakota Ditcheva has a simple game plan for her upcoming clash against Lisa Mauldin.

Ditcheva (10-0) and Mauldin (6-3) will kick off the PFL main card in the women’s flyweight category at the Boeing Center in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday.

A rare knockout artist at flyweight, Ditcheva has finished nine of her 10 career wins — eight of them via knockout. Going into the first flyweight season in Professional Fighters League history, Ditcheva just plans to continue being “vicious.” The Englishwoman also believes that some of her opponents underestimate her power until they get cracked.

While she expects her opponent to inevitably shoot for a takedown, “Dangerous” claims she is as comfortable on the ground.

“Just to be vicious which is what happens when I get in… I kind of, my switch flicks and that’s it,” Ditcheva said during a PFL media day. “I think I’ll just get in there and do what I always do. But I know these girls are gonna come and take me down as soon as they get hit from me and feel the power. I think they underestimate sometimes before they get in there how strong I actually am. So, I’m sure they’re gonna come and try and take me down, but I’m fine with that. We can go to the floor, we can stand up. It doesn’t really matter to me.”

With five finishes in as many PFL outings, Ditcheva is one of the most promising talents in the promotion. At 25 years of age, the undefeated prospect certainly appears to have a bright future ahead of her. However, Ditcheva hasn’t planned too far ahead, as she believes she is yet to reach her peak.

“In the next five years? I wanna win this belt for sure, this world championship belt, and then we’ll see what comes after that. It’s really hard. Like I said, I'm only 25. So, I feel like women don't really hit the peak until like 30-31, so I feel like I've got so much time yet," Ditcheva said. "I'm not in a rush to kind of do anything crazy. Yeah, I would like to, I don't know, as long as I'm fighting the top-level girls, let's get this tournament out the way first, beat these opponents that I've got in front of me, and then we'll see what happens after them. But as long as I keep fighting the top girls and proving I'm the best girl, then that's kind of my plan for the next five years.”
