Bellator 95 Weigh-in Results: Shamhalaev Cleared on Second Try for FW Title Headliner
Pat Curran’s second featherweight title defense is now official, as challenger Shahbulat Shamhalaev was given the green light during his second trip to the scale at Wednesday’s Bellator 95 weigh-in.
Curran tipped the scales at 144.7 pounds, while Shamhalaev checked in at an even 146 on his first try before matching Curran’s weight on his second attempt. Although most athletic commissions allow fighters a one-pound allowance, Bellator requires that competitors come in under the divisional limit to compete for a title.
