The card is headlined by a women’s flyweight title tilt as Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will put her belt on the line against Kate Jackson. Macfarlane (10-0) has been perfect as a professional and has already notched three defenses in since submitting Emily Ducote back in 2017 to claim the inaugural championship. She most recently defeated Veta Arteaga via doctor stoppage. The champ looked great and weighed in at 124.8 pounds.
Jackson (11-3-1) is on a two-fight win streak since dropping a decision to former challenger Valerie Letourneau. The Brit comes into the bout as quite the underdog, with champ Macfarlane sitting as a -580 favorite. Despite the odds stacked against her, Jackson looked prepared on the scales at 124.4 pounds per MMA Junkie.
The co-main event sees A.J. McKee looking to keep his undefeated record intact against Bellator mainstay Derek Campos in a featherweight tournament quarterfinal bout. McKee (15-0) passed his two most recent tests with flying colors as he won a one-sided decision against Pat Curran and knocked out Georgi Karakhanyan in just eight seconds. Meanwhile, Campos snapped a three-fight losing streak with a decision win over Daniel Straus. McKee is a huge -860 favorite, so oddmakers are expecting Campos to come up short.
The entirety of Bellator 236 will stream live on Dazn starting at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT on Saturday night.
