A high-flying Ultimate Fighting Championship featherweight matchup is headed to a card in less than a month.

On Friday, first reported that Alex Caceres (16-12, 1 NC) will be taking on Giga Chikadze (10-2) in the featherweight division. The two have been tapped to compete at the UFC Fight Night card on Aug. 8 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Chikadze has confirmed this matchup indirectly on his Facebook page, claiming that the next fight would feature a “Ninja vs. Bruce Lee.” Chikadze considers himself a ninja on social media, while Caceres’ nickname is “Bruce Leeroy.”

Caceres made a statement in his last performance, handing the youthful upstart Chase Hooper his first career defeat in June. The win streak of two – he also captured a decision over Steven Peterson last year – is his longest since 2016. Caceres holds wins over names like Sergio Pettis, Damacio Page and Cole Miller in his UFC career that dates back to 2011. By beating Hooper, Caceres lifted his UFC record above .500, and “Bruce Leeroy” sports 11 victories, 10 defeats and a no-contest in his tumultuous tenure on the UFC roster.

Chikadze has not suffered a loss since his appearance on the second season of Dana White's Contender Series. After his submission defeat to Austin Springer, Chikadze has rattled off five wins, including three in the UFC over Brandon Davis, Jamall Emmers, and most recently Irwin Rivera. Prior to signing with the Las Vegas-based promotion, the Georgian kickboxer had finished his opponent in the first round in all seven of his career triumphs.

The UFC Fight Night card headlined by Derrick Lewis vs. Alexey Oleynik will take place on Aug. 8 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Although the bout order is still unclear, another top bout on the card pits Omari Akhmedov against former champ Chris Weidman at middleweight. Additionally, an important lightweight contest between Beneil Dariush and Scott Holtzman will go down that night.
