UFC officials Wednesday announced another new addition to the developing UFC on Fox 6 bill, as T.J. Grant faces Matt Wiman on Jan. 26 at Chicago’s United Center.
The evening’s main draw, which airs live on Fox’s flagship network, will be headlined by a flyweight title tilt between Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson. The event is also expected to feature an anticipated lightweight clash between WEC veterans Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone, as well as a light heavyweight showdown pitting former champion Quinton Jackson against the hard-hitting Glover Teixeira.
Grant, 28, has won three straight fights heading into his meeting with Wiman. The Canadian competed twice this year, kicking off 2012 by outpointing Carlo Prater in May before taking a hard-fought unanimous decision from Evan Dunham in a “Fight of the Night” winning performance on Sept. 22 at UFC 152.
Wiman, meanwhile, has emerged victorious in five of his last six outings. “Handsome” returned to competition on Sept. 29 after spending nearly a year on the shelf, tapping submission specialist Paul Sass with a first-round armbar at UFC on Fuel TV 5. Wiman is a 13-time Octagon veteran and holds notable wins over Mac Danzig, Cole Miller, Thiago Tavares and Michihiro Omigawa.
