Report: WWE Won’t Punish Brock Lesnar for Failed UFC 200 Drug Tests

While Brock Lesnar could be looking at a two-year suspension for a possible violation of the UFC’s Anti-Doping Policy, the crossover star apparently won’t face any discipline from World Wrestling Entertainment for the infraction.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, Lesnar is exempt from the organization’s wellness policy because he does not compete on a full-time basis for WWE.

"WWE’s talent wellness program does not apply to part-time performers such as Brock Lesnar," a spokesperson told TMZ.

That should clear the way for Lesnar’s participation at WWE’s SummerSlam on Aug. 21. According to the report, Lesnar has appeared in the WWE ring a combined 19 times over the last three years, a far cry from the workload of the average professional wrestler.

Lesnar was granted a one-off opportunity by the WWE to return to the Octagon at UFC 200 on July 9. In his first bout in nearly five years, the ex-heavyweight king earned a unanimous decision triumph against Mark Hunt. However, Lesnar reportedly tested positive for the estrogen blocker clomiphene in an out-of-competition test administered on June 28 as well as an in-competition test given at the event.

In addition to a two-year suspension, Lesnar could lose a hefty chunk of his disclosed $2.5 million payday and have his victory against Hunt overturned. He is entitled to a full legal review process before any sanctions are imposed.
