According to reports from ESPN.com and the Los Angeles Times, Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene, an estrogen blocker which can mask steroid use, help stimulate natural testosterone production and limit side physical effects stemming from steroid use.

While the exact nature of the result has not been officially revealed, it has been confirmed that the UFC heavyweight tested positive for the same substance in both an out-of-competition test administered on June 28 as well as an in-competition test given at UFC 200.

The Nevada Athletic Commission on Monday revealed that clomiphene, or hydroxyclomiphene, was one of two estrogen blockers that Jones tested positive for in an out-of-competition screening prior to UFC 200.

Lesnar earned a disclosed $2.5 million purse for his unanimous decision victory over Mark Hunt on July 9 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. It was his first UFC bout since December 2011. Lesnar is facing a possible two-year suspension for the anti-doping violation, but he is entitled to a full legal review process before any sanctions are imposed by the promotion or the NAC.

According to the USADA website, Lesnar submitted eight samples since announcing his intention to return to the UFC. The former NCAA wrestling champion reportedly submitted multiple clean samples prior to the failed June 28 test.
