The injury is reportedly the same one de Randamie initially referenced after she defeated Holly Holm via unanimous decision at UFC 208 to claim the inaugural 145-pound title in February. According to MMAnytt, “The Iron Lady” will likely require surgery.
The 33-year-old Netherlands native was stripped of the featherweight crown in June due to her unwillingness to fight then No. 1 contender Cristiane Justino. De Randamie previously released a statement through her management refusing to fight Justino because of concerns that “Cyborg” was a known steroid user. Justino went on to claim the vacant belt with a victory over Evinger at UFC 214 on July 29.
UFC Fight Night 115 takes place at Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands and is headlined by a heavyweight showdown between Stefan Struve and Alexander Volkov. The card will stream in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.
