Bobby Taylor vs. William Walker

Round 1

The lightweights take the center of the cage with Walker light on his feet. Walker changes levels looking for a single leg, and Taylor clubs him with a couple rights. Walker completes a takedown against the cage and secures a hook. Taylor rises to his feet, but Walker is right on top of him. The fighters continue to clinch against the cage, and Taylor spins out. Another single leg takedown for Walker, and the Arkansas native rains down several knees to Taylor’s thigh. Walker creeps up his opponent’s back and is looking for a rear-naked choke, but quickly abandons the submission. Taylor reverses and ends up in top position, throwing a hard right to Walkers head. With one minute left on the clock, Taylor sits in Walker’s guard, and fires several right hands down the center. Walker dives for a takedown but Taylor sprawls nicely. The round ends with Walker throwing left hands on Taylor against the cage. 10-9 Walker.

Round 2

The second stanza begins with Taylor appearing to be winded. Walker dives in for another takedown, but is shoved off by the Californian. Double leg takedown attempt by Walker against the cage, and the lanky lightweight completes the takedown. Taylor immediately reverses and gains top position. He stands up and rains down a couple punches, but falls directly into a triangle by Walker. The choke is tight, and Taylor is forced to tap.

Joel Cooper vs. Grady Hurley

Round 1

David Ferguson will officiate this middleweight contest. Cooper backs up to the cage and Hurley immediately clinches his man against the fence. Knees and punches on the inside for Hurley. Cooper is trying to roll out, but Hurley is keeping him close. Cooper briefly reverses position, but Hurley regains control. Right hands to the midsection by the Mississippi native, as Cooper is crouches against the cage padding. Hurley controlling the head of his opponent as he digs some left hands into Coopers body. The middleweights stand and Hurley attacks with a guillotine. Cooper changes levels and attempts a single leg as Hurley rains down a few elbows to the temple of “Ice Cold”. Cooper drops for a possible leg lock attempt, but he’s leaving himself open for punishment, as Hurley lands a few solid right hands. Hurley now in Coopers half-guard as Cooper threatens with a kimura on the right side. Hurley escapes and the round comes to an end. 10-9 Hurley.

Round 2

Hurley opens the round with a few probing jabs and Cooper circles out. Hurley once again uses his jab to close distance and clinches his opponent against the cage. Several knees to the gut by the Reality Combat veteran. Hurley continues to pressure Cooper against the fence. After a scramble, Hurley leaps on to Coopers back. Both hooks are in and the Mississippi native is looking for a rear-naked choke. With 2:40 left on the clock, Hurley has his opponent flattened out while raining down punches. Cooper turns over and Hurley continues peppering shots. Hurley postures up in full mount throwing several elbows, but nothing landing too clean. “Ice Cold” regains half-guard as Hurley continues landing short shots. More of the same as the bell sounds. 10-9 Hurley.

Round 3

The third frame begins with Hurley wading forward flicking out several jabs. Cooper backpedaling as Hurley controls the center. Hurley briefly clinches “Ice Cold” against the cage, but Cooper circles out. Cooper changes levels and completes a double-leg takedown. Tight closed guard by Hurley, and Cooper begins moving his opponent closer to the fence. Hurley with good control from bottom, keeping control of his opponents head, not allowing Cooper to posture up. Hurley attacks with an armbar but it’s quicky defended by the Tennessee native. Cooper drops for a leg lock by after a scramble, Hurley ends up on top. “Ice Cold” now in the turtle position with Hurley landing short shots. With one minute left in the fight, both fighters are back to their feet. Cooper completes a single leg takedown against the cage and immediately drops back for another leglock attempt. Hurley defends well and achieves full mount. He begins raining down shots as the final bell sounds. 10-9 Hurley.

Thomas Gifford vs. Wade Johnson

Round 1

The lightweights take the center of the cage. Johnson fires off an outside lowkick and follows with a left-right combination. Wild exchange against the cage from both fighters as Gifford backs his opponent up. Johnson explodes forward with a right and and clinches Gifford. Several knees and punches against the fence the two fighters once again take the center. Jab-cross combination from Johnson, followed by an inside low kick. “The Hammer” snaps out a left high kick which is partially blocked. At 2:30 on the clock, Johnson wades inside with a combination, but nothing landing clean. Both fighters are light on their feet, and Gifford snaps his opponent’s head back with a solid jab. More wild exchanges with both lightweights scoring. Johnson using head movement to avoid “The Young Lions” punches. Johnson doubles up the jab and follows up with a sweeping left hand. The lightweights close the round with another exchange in the center of the Legacy cage. 10-9 Johnson

Round 2

The second stanza begins with Johnson snapping out a low kick. Gifford trying to find his range with a jab, and Johnson answers with another leg kick. With three minutes left on the clock, Gifford explodes forward with a left-right combination. Spinning back kick missed for Johnnson and he flops to the canvas. More clearn jabs by Gifford as both fighters remain extremely busy. Flurry of punches from Gifford rocks Johnson against the cage. Johnson drops to his knees against the cage and Gifford continues his onslaught. “The Hammer” briefly rises to his feet but is immediately knocked back down to his knees. Brutal punches to the head of Johnson and this has to be over soon. The punishment continues and referee David Ferguson as seen enough.

Ben Brewer vs. Gilbert Smith

Round 1

Smith circles the outside as Brewer closes in. Smith lands a solid right hand and Brewer is backed up to the cage. Smith presses his opponent against the fence, but Brew gets the underhooks and reverses position. Waist lock by Brewer and he drags Smith to the canvas. Smith tries to climb to his feet and Brewer briefly thinks about taking his back. Smith stands further and Brewer threatens with a guillotine. The former TUF contestant defends well, and hoists Brewer in the air slamming him to the mat. Now “The Specialist” in top position, raining down left hands against the cage. Brewer explodes to his feet and pushes Smith against the fence. Smith changes levels but completely misses on the takedown attempt. He regains his footing and looks for a double-leg against the cage. The UFC vet is now in his opponents half-guard and Smith threatens with a kimura on the left side of Brewer. “The Ruler” defends, and Smith keeps top control, landing a few short hammerfists. With 20 seconds left on the clock, Smith pulls guard for a guillotine attempt. The choke is tight and Brewer is left with no choice but to tap with only seconds left on the clock.

Jonathan Brookins vs. Austin Lyons

Round 1

Mike Cain is on assignment for this bantamweight bout. Brookins comes out in the southpaw stance and throws up a right high kick that partially lands. Both fighters are trade range-finding shots in the center of the cage. Brooks changes levels and Lyons defends, landing a knee up the middle. The bantamweights circle in the center and Lyons feints a takedown attempt. Brookins fires off a body kick, and then drops for a takedown. Lyons scrambles out of his opponents grip, and and lands a right hand to the Ultimate Fighter winner’s midsection. With 2:00 left on the clock, both fighters are still probing each other with jabs trying to find their distance. Brooks circling against the cage as Lyons controls the center, but not much output from either fighter. The UFC vet changes levels and pushes his opponent against the cage. Lyons circles off with a left hand. With 30 seconds left on the clock, the fighters return to the center. Lyons whiffs on a right hook and the round comes to an end. 10-9 Brookins.

Round 2

Lyons takes the center and lands a solid left hook to the chin of Brookins. A little more urgency here from both fighters to start the round. Lyons with massive right hand upstairs and Brookins drops to the mat. He springs back up to his feet, but Lyons has him retreating. The UFC vet is busted up as he circles away from the charging Lyons. Accidental eye poke by Brookins causes referee Mike Cain to call a break in the action. The fight resumes and Brookins fakes a level change but pays for it with a right to the body. Hard inside low kick for Lyons. Brookins explosed forward with left-right combinations but nothing landing. Right hook to the chin from Lyons, and Brookins locks up a waist cinch against the cage. He lifts his opponent down to the canvas and attaches himself to the RFA vet’s back. With 30 seconds left on the clock, Brookins threatens with a rear-naked choke but there’s not going to be enough time. 10-9 Lyons.

Round 3

The final round begins and Lyons moves forward flicking out a jab. Brookins changes levels and looks for a takedown against the fence. The fighter exchange and Lyons gets his back off the cage. The Nashville MMA fighter attempts to back his opponent up to the fence. He lands a knee to the midsection, but Brookins circles out, and the bantamweights again take the center. More probing jabs from Lyons, and Brookins answers with a body kick. The fighters exchange in the clinch and Brookins lands an incidental knee to the groin of Lyons. The referee separates the fighters to give the RFA vet time to recover. The fight continues and Lyons presses forward. Sweeping right hand by Lyons, and Brookins changes levels for a waist lock takedown, but his opponent immediately pops to his feet. Brooks drags him backwards and has Lyons’ back. Wiith 45 seconds left in the fight, Brookins attempts a choke, but Lyons has the hand control to prevent the submission. 10-9 Brookins.

Pedro Souza vs. Brian Hall

Round 1

Mike Cain will be the third man in the cage for this flyweight main event. The fighters no not touch gloves and takes the center of the cage. Souza playing the oustside as Hall stalks. Souza throws a spinning back kick misses it’s mark. The two flyweights are patiently measuring each other. Souza mixes in a couple low kicks, and Hall explodes forward with a massive right hook, clipping that floors Souza. Now in his opponent’s guard, “The Law” begins firing off punches to Souza’s head. The Brazilian threatens with an armbar, and then switches to a leglock attack. He uses the hold to regain his footing, and the fighters stand to clinch against the fence. With 1:30 on the clock, the fighters again take the center of the cage. Hall trying to work the body of Souza, hoping to set up something upstairs. Souza on the the attack now , throwing wild strikes. A punch gets through and Hall drops to the mat, but he’s immediately back to his feet. 10-9 Souza.

Round 2

The second round begins with Souza circling away from Hall’s power hand. The Memphis police officer explodes forward with a combination, but nothing landing clean. Hall trying to bait Souza into a counter, and the Brazilian lands a right hand over the top that backs the hometown fighter up. Hall changes levels and completes a double-leg takedown. Souza using a high guard and rolls for a leglock, but Hall manages to get back to his feet. Inside low kick from Souza, and the two flyweights exchange right hands up top. Souza backing his opponent to the cage letting go with left and right hooks, but Hall fights his way off the fence with a combination of his own. Souza now backing his man up, throwing rangy strikes. Hall drops for a takedown and drags the CM System fighter to the mat. With 40 seconds left on the clock, Hall begins raining down hammerfists to the Brazilian’s head. The round ends with Hall inside Souza’s closed guard. 10-9 Hall.

Round 3

The final round starts and the flyweights exchange punches in the center. Souza throws a kick that is easily caught by Hall. “The Law’s” back is to the cage now, with Souza unleashing combinations on the visibly tired Hall. The Memphis BJJ fighter appears to be exhausted as the Brazilian continues to land strikes. Hall changes levels and gets a takedown. He postures up in the guard of Souza and begins raining down left and right hands. Both flyweights appear to be gasses at this point. With 2:00 left on the clock, Hall sits up to land an elbow, but now seems content with laying in his opponents guard. Souza using a high guard to threaten with a possible submission, but there’s nothing there. With 40 seconds left on the clock, Hall has his opponent’s head trapped against the cage, and begins throwing big right hands. Souza pops back up to his feet, and Hall attempts a no-hooks rear-naked choke, but the bell sounds to end the contest. 10-9 Hall.
