UFC Fight Night 123 will apparently be headlined by two southern Californians vying for supremacy in the Central Valley.

The 26-year-old Ortega has put together a 12-0 (1 NC) record since turning pro in April 2010. In his July 2014 UFC debut, “T-City” quickly choked out Mike de la Torre in the first round, but tested positive for drostanolone, had his win overturned and served a nine-month suspension.

Since his return, the Rener and Ryron Gracie jiu-jitsu black belt has gone 4-0, stopping Thiago Tavares, Diego Brandao, Clay Guida and Renato Carneiro. Incredibly, all four of those stoppages have come in the Round 3, the longest consecutive streak of third-round stoppages in UFC history.

Swanson, 33, has taken four consecutive wins of own since losing to current UFC featherweight king Max Holloway, earning unanimous decisions over Hacran Dias and Tatsuya Kawajiri before his sensational, memorable brawl with Doo Ho Choi at UFC 216 in Toronto last December. This past April, the Jackson-Wink MMA exponent won a five-round verdict over Artem Lobov in Nashville, Tenn., in the headliner of UFC Fight Night 108.

Swanson was briefly linked to a rematch with all-time 145-pound great Jose Aldo earlier this year but those plans were dashed Swanson wanted to spent time with his wife and first-born child.
