The last few weeks have been difficult for Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight Kalinn Williams. The 25-year-old on March 28 was scheduled to make his second appearance inside the Octagon at UFC on ESPN 8 in Columbus, Ohio. However, with coronavirus fears building, the event was moved to the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Those plans were eventually nixed and the show was cancelled, leaving the Michigan native without a fight or payday.
“This is our job. That’s a thing that kind of messed with me a little bit,” Williams told Sherdog.com. “That was something I was looking forward to [and] something I was waiting on, but it is what it is. Just take life as it comes. I play the cards that I’m always dealt, and I’ve just got to keep on moving, man. Life doesn’t stop. You’ve just got to stay ready. You’ve got to stay focused, because we’ve got so much craziness and things going on around us that we can’t control. Coming up, I’ve learned to really not stress myself over things that I can’t control.”
