Thanh Le anticipates that he might be back this fall.
At last year’s One: Inside the Matrix event, Le (12-2, 4-0 One) became the One Championship featherweight king. Le put on a surgical performance that allowed him to stop former titleholder Martin Nguyen at 2:19 of the third stanza. Unfortunately for Le, he also broke his finger in that fight and he has been healing since. However, he looks forward to his return inside the caged circle, especially since he wants to face lightweight champion Christian Lee -- who is still ranked No. 2 at featherweight.
“I think that would be a great fight for the company, for the fans, and it’s definitely a goal of mine to be able to compete against him,” he said while talking with Sherdog. “He’s a great competitor, he’s really skilled, he’s good. He’s a tough, tough opponent. Yeah, definitely that’s one of the guys on the hit list, on the goal list. I’d definitely go up to lightweight to fight him. I heard somebody saying that he isn’t interested in coming down to featherweight anymore, which is fine. I would love to go up to lightweight and try to get my hands on that lightweight belt. I’m down for all options, but he is definitely somebody I’d love to get in there with."
