Royval on Moreno: ‘I Think Everything He Does Plays Right into My F*cking Hands’

Ultimate Fighting Championship No. 6-ranked flyweight Brandon Royval has respect for his UFC 255 opponent Brandon Moreno. He respects what he has done in the sport and promotion in route to earning his spot as the No. 2 man in the division. However, while he may be the highest ranked fighter he has ever faced in his 16-fight career, “Raw Dawg” is adamant his Mexican foe is not a difficult test. That’s because the 28-year-old feels Moreno’s style is tailor made for his own.

“As far as dangerous matchups, I don’t think he’s the most dangerous I’ve ever had. I think there’s scarier match-ups for me,” Royval told Sherdog. “I think everything he does plays right into my f*cking hands. I think everything he does is going to benefit me a little bit. I think that he’s dangerous as far as accomplishments. He would be the best accomplishment on my belt. But as far as dangerous opponents for me, I don’t think he’s the most dangerous one I’ve faced so far.”

Along with looking ahead to his pivotal matchup on Nov. 21 in Las Vegas, Royval also looked back at his highlight-filled win over Kai Kara-France in September. He then explained why he does not like comparisons to UFC lightweight Tony Ferguson and wants to show off more of his technical skills against Moreno. In addition, he spoke on why a big win should score him a title fight over incumbent choice, and former bantamweight champion, Cody Garbrandt.
