Alexandre Pantoja Caps Off Historic Night With Second Round Submission on 'AXS TV Fights: RFA Vs. Legacy Superfight'

(PRESS RELEASE) -- LOS ANGELES – In a historic night for AXS TV FIGHTS, the network’s first ever co-promoted event featured top fighters from Resurrection Fighting Alliance and Legacy Fighting Championship going head-to-head, two promotional title fights, and culminated in flyweight superfight between RFA Champion Alexandre Pantoja (16-2) and Legacy Champion Damacio Page (19-10). In the closing seconds of round two, Pantoja captured Page in a triangle choke, winning by technical submission and claiming the flyweight superfight belt. At the end of the night, RFA won three out of the four fights against Legacy fighters.

In the two co-main events, Luke Sanders (10-0) successfully defended his RFA bantamweight belt, defeating RFA challenger Terrion Ware (13-4) by unanimous decision; while Legacy contender Mike Bronzoulis (18-8-1) defeated fellow Legacy fighter Dave Burrow (13-6) via unanimous decision to claim the promotion’s vacant lightweight title.

Flyweight Superfight Championship

RFA’s Alexandre Pantoja (16-2) defeated Legacy’s Damacio Paige (19-10) by technical submission (triangle choke) at 5:00 in the second round.

RFA Bantamweight Title Fight

RFA Champion Luke Sanders (10-0) defeats RFA Contender Terrion Ware (13-4) via unanimous decision (50-45, 50-45, 49-46).

Legacy Lightweight Title Fight

Legacy Contender Mike Bronzoulis (18-8-1) defeated Legacy Contender Dave Burrow (13-6) via unanimous decision (48-47, 49-46, 49-46).

RFA vs. Legacy Lightweight Fight

RFA’s Adam Townsend (13-3) defeated Legacy’s Yuri Villefort (6-5) via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27).

RFA vs. Legacy Flyweight Fight

Legacy’s Brian Hall (9-2) defeated RFA’s Kevin Gray (5-2) via submission (guillotine) at 1:59 in round one.

RFA vs. Legacy Welterweight Fight

RFA’s Bojan Velickovic (10-3) defeated Legacy’s Charles Byrd (7-4) via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27).

When AXS TV FIGHTS returns May 22, World Muay Thai Champion Kem Sitsongpeenong makes his U.S. debut facing the explosive Jo Nattawut on AXS TV FIGHTS: LION FIGHT 22 live from Sunset Station in Las Vegas at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. In the co-main event, fan favorite Tiffany Van Soest attempts to reclaim the now vacant Lion Fight featherweight title against decorated U.K. fighter Bernis Alldis.
