Welterweights Brennan Ward, Dennis Olson to Meet at Bellator 144 on Oct. 23

Brennan Ward will go for his third straight win when he squares off with Dennis Olson at Bellator 144.

Bellator officials announced the welterweight bout, which will be part of the event’s main card, on Tuesday. Bellator 144 takes place on Oct. 23 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., and is headlined by a bantamweight title tilt pitting Marcos Galvao against Eduardo Dantas. The main draw airs on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

Ward enters the matchup with plenty of momentum after back-to-back first-round finishes Curtis Millender and Roger Carroll in his last two outings. The 27-year-old Waterford, Conn., native is 7-3 under the Bellator banner overall, with all of his victories coming inside the distance.

Olson, meanwhile, is still searching for his first triumph with the California-based promotion after falling to Paul Daley via second-round TKO in his third appearance at Bellator 140. “The Menace” has won just three times in his last nine outings.
