Welterweight, Middleweight Bouts Added to UFC 60

The UFC on Tuesday announced two under card bouts for May 27's "Hughes vs. Gracie" event at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

A welterweight match will pit The Ultimate Fighter season one middleweight champion Diego Sanchez (Pictures) against John Alessio (Pictures). New Mexico's Sanchez was supposed to face Canada's Alessio in March, but a virus, which took hold the week of the fight, forced him off the card.

Mike Swick (Pictures), one of Sanchez's TUF cohorts, returns to the Octagon versus the hard-hitting Joe Riggs (Pictures). This is a real test for Swick, who enters May's fight having won three in a row and eight of nine overall. Riggs makes his return to 185 pounds after experimenting at welterweight. Most notably, Riggs failed to make weight for a 170-pound title shot against Matt Hughes (Pictures). A non-title contest saw Riggs fall easily to the dominant champion.
