WSOF 4 Salaries: Tyrone Spong, Ray Sefo, Gerald Harris Earn Top Paydays




Decorated kickboxer Tyrone Spong earned the largest payday at World Series of Fighting’s fourth event, taking home $31,000 for his unanimous decision triumph over Angel DeAnda ($4,000) in the evening’s headliner.

WSOF 4 took place this past Saturday at Citizens Bank Arena in Ontario, Calif. The main card aired on NBC Sports Network and also saw world-ranked bantamweight Marlon Moraes ($24,000) capture a unanimous verdict against Brandon Hempleman ($3,000) in the co-main event. Salary information was released Monday by the California State Athletic Commission.

Other top earners included promotion president Ray Sefo, who garnered $30,000 in falling to Dave Huckaba ($12,000) via second round technical knockout in a heavyweight bout, and Gerald Harris, who raked $30,000 for outpointing Jorge Santiago ($13,000) at 170 pounds.

The disclosed purses reported by state athletic commissions do not include any performance-based or discretionary bonuses that may be awarded to a fighter by the promotion. Additionally, the reported figures do not reflect any deductions made by the commission for taxes, insurance, etc., and do not include any sponsorship money that a fighter may acquire for their performance.
