Urijah Faber will welcome onetime Sengoku champion Masanori Kanehara to the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Sept. 20.

Fox Sports on Monday reported that the bantamweights will meet on the main card of UFC Fight Night “Hunt vs. Nelson.” The event is set to stream live on UFC Fight Pass from Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, and will be headlined by a heavyweight tilt pitting Mark Hunt against Roy Nelson.

Faber, who was originally rumored to face Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto on the same card, will look to build off his July 5 submission of Alex Caceres at UFC 175. The former World Extreme Cagefighting featherweight ace has compiled a 7-3 record since joining the UFC in 2011, with his only losses coming in title bouts against Renan Barao (twice) and Dominick Cruz.

Kanehara owns a 7-2 mark in the same span and previously traveled to the U.S. to train at Jackson-Wink MMA before opening his own gym, Alpha. In his most recent bout on April 29, Kanehara saw a six-fight winning streak snapped with a disqualification loss when it was ruled that he intentionally threw Toshiaki Kitada out of the ring at Deep “66 Impact.” His 23-11-5 overall record includes victories over Yamamoto, Chan Sung Jung and Michihiro Omigawa.
