UFC on Fox 12 Medical Suspensions: Matt Brown, Three Others Face 6-Month Layoff

Five rounds in the UFC will take a toll on a fighter’s body, but 25 minutes between Matt Brown and Robbie Lawler left the two competitors in opposing positions following UFC on Fox 12.

The California State Athletic Commission on Monday released a full list of medical suspensions from the event to Sherdog.com, which took place July 26 at SAP Arena in San Jose, Calif.

Not only did Brown lose Saturday’s main event by unanimous decision, but “The Immortal” is also potentially going to be on the shelf for a maximum of 180 days with a possible fracture to the nasal area. If cleared by a physician, Brown could only be out of action for 30 to 45 days.

Meanwhile, Lawler was only handed a mandatory seven-day rest period by the commission.

Below is the full list of medical recommendations for all 24 of Saturday’s participants.

UFC on Fox 12 Medical Suspensions:

Matt Brown: 180 days for possible fracture to open nasal area, 60 days for laceration to nasal area, unless cleared by physician. 30/45 days, no exception

Robbie Lawler: Seven day mandatory rest period

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira: 60 days for laceration to right eyebrow, unless cleared by physician. 30/45 days, no exception

Anthony Johnson: Seven day mandatory rest period

Clay Guida: 60 days for facial laceration, unless cleared by physician. 30/45 days, no exception

Dennis Bermudez: Seven-day mandatory rest period

Josh Thomson: 60 days for laceration to right eyelid, unless cleared by physician. Seven day mandatory rest period

Bobby Green: Seven day mandatory rest period

Daron Cruickshank: 60 days for laceration to left eyelid, unless cleared by physician. Seven day mandatory rest period

Jorge Masvidal: Seven day mandatory rest period

Kyle Kingsbury: 30/45 days, no exception

Patrick Cummins: Seven day mandatory rest period

Hernani Perpetuo: Indefinite suspension for possible fracture to left wrist, right foot. Must be cleared by physician

Tim Means: 180 days for possible fracture to finger, unless cleared by physician. Seven day mandatory rest period

Mike de la Torre: Seven day mandatory rest period

Brian Ortega: Seven day mandatory rest period

Tiago dos Santos e Silva: Seven day mandatory rest period

Akbarh Arreola: Seven day mandatory rest period

Gilbert Burns: 180 days for possible fracture to left thumb, 60 days for laceration to right eyebrow and scalp, unless cleared by physician. Seven day mandatory rest period

Andreas Stahl: 180 days for possible fracture to left cheek and nasal areal, unless cleared by physician. Seven day mandatory rest period

Juliana de Lima Carneiro: Seven day mandatory rest period

Joanna Jedrzejczyk: Seven day mandatory rest period

Steven Siler: 60 days for laceration to left thumb, unless cleared by physician. Seven day mandatory rest period
